Hello there! My name is Jes Vegas. I’m an artist, activist, aspiring musician, farmer and carpenters daughter. I’ve been creating art through dancing, painting and drawing since I was a young girl. Growing up in Virginia, I fell in love with nature and the wisdom it always seems to unfold.
At 23, I became very involved with the movement of cannabis legalization. My friend, Rob Rowley, who passed away in August 2019, had a t-shirt business, Shirts With A Purpose, which advocated for full legalization of all things cannabis. I helped him set up his table on the Downtown Mall of Charlottesville where we talked to thousands of people about the importance of cannabis plant; it’s medicinal miracles, healing properties, the history of its prohibition, and how to help change the laws so it, and the people, could see freedom. I truly believe cannabis can help save the world whether that be through food, fiber, fuel or medicine.
Activism gave me a sense of purpose and I opened my own nonprofit, World Peace Love Liberty, in 2017. One of my missions is to bring all walks of life together through acts of loving kindness, music, art, environmental awareness and positive change. I’m honored to be able to support the Virginia Hemp Coalition through my art - Blessings to you all!
